Backend Developer (Node.js and PHP)

About the role

Fanatico is a dynamic US-based platform that honors Idols and connects them with their most dedicated Fans. Since 2017, the platform has empowered Idols to share exclusive content with Fans via subscriptions, host sweepstakes, and offer engaging experiences. Fans can express their support by joining Fan Clubs, while Sponsors can collaborate with Idols for event appearances, content marketing, and other features.

At the moment, Fanatico is looking to hire a highly-capable Backend Developer, with strong knowledge of both Node.js and PHP, to join the development team. By contributing to the growth and innovation of our platform, you'll play a key role in helping us achieve our vision and drive the company's success.

General Responsibilities:

Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following industry best practices
Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing systems and services
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design and implement new features in the existing solutions
Participate in performance optimisation and tuning of existing applications by reviewing software code and providing constructive feedback for improvement
Ensure adherence to security best practices in all development activities
Stay updated with the latest backend development trends, tools, and technologies

Skills and Qualifications:

Demonstrated professional experience and strong knowledge of Node.js
Mid level knowledge of PHP
Understanding of PostgreSQL; MongoDB is a plus
Experience with frontend deployment in Nuxt.js is a plus
Experience with third-party services based on SSO and Auth0, Firebase - advanced knowledge
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Self-driven, with the ability to take ownership of tasks and deliver solutions
Great interpersonal skills, collaboration, and communications skills; knowledge of English and Russian
